Location:Iran,Isfahan,East Nazar.st
Type: Residential Building
Status: in process
Project idea: Located in Isfahan, this residential building seeks a thoughtful balance between formal simplicity and architectural expressiveness. The design draws inspiration from the city’s historical architecture, particularly through the use of bold arches that frame the openings and volumes, giving the façade a distinct and memorable character. The interplay of solid and void, along with varied depths and layering, introduces a dynamic rhythm to the building’s skin, allowing light and shadow to become active participants in its visual experience.
The variation in the scale and arrangement of openings, combined with recessed and projecting volumes, enhances the spatial depth while also addressing environmental concerns such as solar control and natural ventilation. These architectural gestures are not merely decorative—they reflect a sensitivity to both climate and context.
On the ground floor, a commercial unit activates the street edge with its transparent, arch-framed storefront. This space not only serves its retail function but also contributes to the pedestrian experience, blurring the boundary between public and private, city and building.
Overall, the project reinterprets familiar elements of local architecture through a contemporary lens, aiming to create a building that is modern, rooted in identity, and responsive to its urban and cultural setting.
